I just read this poem, written by a retiring English professor at St. Mary's College. I hope it brings you as much calm as it does me.
The Economy of Days
To want, to have, to do--
the verbs I live
in perpetual unrest.
How difficult to be--
to embrace the homely
details of my days
to open my heart
to the flow
of this amphibious life,
to trust in the motion toward
as a fish trusts
the river at its gills,
to trust in this journey,
to swim,
to be still.

Thanks Aunt Carol, that is very nice. I love little poems!
Beautiful. Thanks.
Under the heading of "small world", I took Creative Writing from him when I was at St. Mary's. I know he was young when I was there, but I can't believe he's just now retiring!
